Matt was introduced to a Taiwanese acupuncturist by his Tai Chi teacher in 1990. Matt’s early training included Tai Chi, Qigong, Tui-Na, Acupressure, Meditation, and Chinese Dietary Therapy, including herbs readily available at Asian markets. Matt graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. Matt continued his studies at Qi Elements School of Tai Chi and Massage and became a licensed massage therapist with the Virginia Board of Nursing in 2006. In 2014, he pursued his dream and later graduated from Virginia University of Integrative Medicine with a Master in Acupuncture. He passed the NCCAOM medical board exams and has been licensed by the Virginia Board of Medicine since 2019. Matthew finished the Doctorate in Acupuncture program in 2025.
