Renée began studying alternative medicine options when her daughter became ill at a young age. When traditional medicine could not provide answers about what was happening, nutritional changes and acupuncture began alleviating her daughter’s symptoms. Slowly, Renée began studying the body’s natural desire to heal itself, and she began seeking out ways to enter the profession of acupuncture. She earned her Master of Science in Acupuncture and Professional Doctorate at the Virginia University of Integrative Medicine (VUIM) in 2021. After passing her NCCAOM board exams, she became a Licensed Acupuncturist in the state of Virginia. While being in school, she began her specialty training in Auricular Medicine and SAAT. She also loves understanding how emotions and trauma relate to our well being. She is trauma-informed and is also a certified Emotion Code Practitioner. Before entering the alternative medicine world, Renée had earned a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication from Texas A&M University and a Master of Arts in Communication from the University of Oklahoma. She grew up in Texas and has lived in Missouri, California, Oklahoma, and Virginia. In 2024, Renee returned back to school as a clinical supervisor at VUIM. She teaches acupuncture students how to provide trauma-informed care based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Renée enjoys making and teaching art, sewing, creating new recipes in the kitchen, rock climbing, and camping. When you can't find her treating people, you'll find her with her beloved camper getting into nature to restore her soul. She loves working with kids and adults. She is NADA certified.
